Facial Feminization (FFS) Thailand
FFS is highly individual, a plan built around your features rather than a fixed package. All three partners offer facial procedures; Yanhee and Wansiri carry the fullest menus.
From ~$1,000 (€880) (single procedures) to ~$26,400 (€23,000) (full plan)
Typically 1–2 weeks in Thailand
Swelling settles over weeks to months
Facial feminization combines several procedures into one plan. Common elements include forehead and brow-bone reduction, rhinoplasty, jaw and chin contouring, cheek augmentation and brow lift.
Procedures within an FFS plan
- Upper third, forehead lift, brow-bone (frontal) reduction, hairline.
- Middle third, rhinoplasty, cheek implants/augmentation.
- Lower third, mandible-angle reduction, genioplasty (V-line), chin implant.
- Adjuncts, blepharoplasty, lip and other refinements.
Stay & recovery
- Most FFS plans mean around 1–2 weeks in Thailand.
- Initial swelling settles over weeks; final results emerge over several months.
- We coordinate your consultation, surgery, accommodation and follow-up throughout.
Because FFS is so individual, pricing is always confirmed at consultation. Yanhee publishes official per-procedure rates; Wansiri and Asia Cosmetic quote indicative guides.
What facial feminization in Thailand involves
Facial feminization surgery, or FFS, is not one operation but a set of procedures chosen to soften the features that tend to read as masculine. Almost nobody has all of them. The plan is built around your face and your priorities, which is why two people having FFS in Thailand can have very different surgeries.
It helps to think about the face in thirds. The procedures people ask about most often include:
- Upper third: reducing the bony brow ridge (frontal bossing), reshaping the forehead, lifting the brow, and sometimes lowering or reshaping the hairline.
- Middle third: rhinoplasty to refine the nose, and cheek reshaping or augmentation to restore softer contours.
- Lower third: reducing the angle of the jaw, reshaping the chin (genioplasty, sometimes called a V-line), a lip lift, and a tracheal shave to soften the Adam's apple.
Some of this is bony work and some is soft tissue, and the combination is what creates a harmonious result rather than any single change. Your surgeon maps a plan at consultation based on your features and what matters most to you. If you are new to the topic, our guide on what FFS is is a gentle place to start.
Who facial feminization in Thailand is for
FFS is for trans women and non-binary people who want their face to better reflect their gender, and there is no requirement to have had any other surgery first. You do not need to have been on hormones, since hormones do not change facial bone, although many people choose FFS as part of a wider transition.
Surgeons generally work within the framework of the WPATH Standards of Care (SOC-8) alongside each hospital's own assessment. In practice that means being an adult able to give informed consent and having a clear, realistic sense of what surgery can and cannot do. FFS tends to be assessed more straightforwardly than genital surgery, but the consultation still matters: it is where the surgeon looks at your features, talks through what would make the most difference, and is honest about trade-offs.
Good FFS is conservative as often as it is dramatic. A skilled surgeon will sometimes advise against a procedure that would not suit your face, and that honesty is worth more than a longer surgical list.
Recovery after facial feminization in Thailand
Recovery depends a great deal on how much is done, and the timeline below is a general guide rather than a promise. Your surgeon's instructions always come first, and we stay with you for the part of recovery that happens in Thailand.
- The first week or two. Swelling and bruising are at their most noticeable, especially after bony work such as forehead or jaw reshaping. Most people stay in Thailand for around two weeks so that early healing and suture removal happen near your surgeon before you fly.
- Numbness. Temporary numbness in parts of the face or scalp is common after FFS and usually settles over weeks to months as nerves recover.
- Scars. Incisions are placed to be discreet, often within the hairline, inside the mouth, or in natural creases, and fade over time.
- Settling. You will look much more like yourself within a few weeks, but the finer results of FFS keep refining over several months as the last swelling resolves.
Because FFS is so individual, the best guide to your own recovery is the surgeon who plans your procedures. We can ask them what a realistic week-by-week looks like for the specific combination you choose.
Choosing a hospital for facial feminization in Thailand
All three of our partner hospitals offer facial procedures, and the right choice depends on the plan you and your surgeon settle on and the kind of facility you are looking for.
- Yanhee International Hospital offers the widest published facial menu, from forehead and brow work to rhinoplasty, jaw-angle reduction, genioplasty and blepharoplasty, holds a JCI Gold Seal, and is the only partner that publishes official prices.
- Wansiri Hospital is a modern, design-led centre with a full facial-feminization menu.
- Asia Cosmetic Hospital is a high-volume centre that is strong on procedures such as cheekbone reduction and rhinoplasty.
We never overstate accreditation: Yanhee's JCI Gold Seal is confirmed, Asia Cosmetic's JCI status is not independently verified so we do not claim it, and Wansiri is not JCI. You can compare the hospitals on our partner hospitals page.
What a coordinated FFS package in Thailand includes
We are a facilitator, not a hospital. We wrap the surgical care, which your chosen partner hospital provides, inside one coordinated trip, so you deal with a single team that speaks your language from your first question to your follow-up at home. A package usually brings together surgery with your chosen surgeon at a vetted partner hospital, recovery-suitable accommodation, airport and appointment transfers, interpreting, and full coordination of your consultation, scheduling and aftercare.
Because FFS is planned to your face, cost varies widely with the number and type of procedures. As an indicative guide, prices run from roughly $1,000 (about €880) for a single procedure to around $26,400 (about €23,000) for a full plan, shown in US dollars first with euros alongside. These are guide prices for a coordinated package, not a quote; a firm figure follows once the surgeon has set your plan. Our guide on how much FFS costs goes into more detail, current guide prices are on the pricing page, and you can read more about why people choose Thailand.
